Live Webinar: Supporting Lactation as a Dietitian

Supporting Lactation as a Dietitian

Speaker: Hope Lima, PhD, IBCLC, RDN

Lactation care is a unique challenge, as the interaction between the dyad can determine whether nutritional needs of the infant are met. Dietitians providing care to either women or infants may interact with lactation, and it is important for these dietitians to feel confident in basic breastfeeding support so that optimal breastfeeding outcomes are achieved. In this lecture, dietitians will receive a refresher on basic breastfeeding terminology and recommendations, learn about the physiology of lactation, and work through the impact of diet on human milk composition.

This 1 CEU webinar is applicable for RDs in ALL areas of dietetics, and has great information for students too.
